ANKARA: The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara celebrated Pakistan’s National Day with traditional enthusiasm and fervor.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey, Dr. Yousaf Junaid, raised the Pakistani flag to the tune of the national anthem alongside esteemed guests and members of the Pakistani community. Special messages from Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister were read out during the event.

In his address, Ambassador Junaid highlighted the historical importance of Pakistan Day, commemorating the sacrifices of the country’s founding fathers in establishing an independent homeland for South Asian Muslims.

He emphasized the day’s significance as an opportunity to honor these leaders and renew the commitment to Pakistan’s founding principles of peace, progress, and human dignity.

Ambassador Junaid also praised the longstanding fraternal bonds between Pakistan and Turkey, spanning across centuries. He expressed gratitude to the Turkish leadership and people for their messages of congratulations and for illuminating bridges on the Bosphorus in Pakistan’s flag colors as part of the celebrations.

March 23 holds a pivotal place in Pakistan’s history, marking the adoption of the Lahore Resolution in 1940, later known as the Pakistan Resolution, which called for a separate state for the region’s Muslim population. This dream became a reality on August 14, 1947, with the formation of Pakistan.
