Pakistan Pavilion to Exhibit Mangoes at Eurasia Festival in China

BEIJING: Pakistan pavilion will exhibit mangoes at Eurasia Festival, scheduled to be arranged from 17 to 21 August in Urumqi, the Uyghur Autonomous Region Xinjiang.

Ghulam Qadir, the Commercial Counselor at Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, said on Sunday that upon invitation of the Urumqi government, the Senate of Pakistan will arrange the mango gala during the festival in Urumqi, APP reported Sunday.

Senator Rana Mehmood Ul Hassan Khan would lead the Pakistani delegation, while another 5 senators would visit with the delegation to participate in the opening ceremony of the festival.

Ghulam Qadir said that they wanted to reach out to the Chinese firms with the exhibition, which are interested in importing mangoes from Pakistan.

He said that the government wanted Chinese companies to come to Pakistan, invest in this field, and modernize the infrastructure.

The envoy added that with their help, Pakistan could improve its farming methods to increase the production of mangoes and make better use of the delicious fruit through value addition.

Cold Storages Facilities in Pakistan

He said that Pakistan lacked cold storage facilities, and the Chinese enterprises could set up such centers like in China to prolong the shelf life of mangoes which would be useful.

Responding to a query, he said that the relevant Pakistani and Chinese officials have been discussing ways to enhance trade between the two nations through land routes.

The envoy added that Pakistan could enhance the export of mangoes, seafood, meat, dairy products, and other fresh fruits to China.

He added that the Pakistan pavilion would bring local traders a chance to showcase different kinds of mangoes and attract Chinese buyers.
