ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Special Assistant on Human Rights and Women Empowerment Mushaal Hussein Mullick warned on Tuesday that the unresolved Kashmir dispute could potentially ignite a third world war, stressing the urgent need for international intervention.

Addressing a ceremony organized by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to observe Kashmir Day, Mullick said that Kashmir Solidarity Day served as a poignant reminder that the people of Jammu and Kashmir were not alone in their struggle against Indian illegal occupation.

Mullick condemned the Modi government’s attempts to alter the demographics of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) by granting domiciles to non-Kashmiris, expressing grave concern over the eradication of Muslim heritage under its regime.

She urged the international community to intervene and facilitate a resolution to the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions. Mullick highlighted the formation of a Kashmir Committee in the Prime Minister’s Secretariat to develop a comprehensive strategic plan for the government’s Kashmir policy.

Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ICCI), reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Occupied Kashmir, emphasizing the need for moral and diplomatic backing until they achieve their right to self-determination.

Bakhtawari underscored the significance of Kashmir Day in reiterating Pakistan’s solidarity with the Kashmiri people and emphasized the imperative of resolving the international dispute according to UN Security Council resolutions.

Engr. Azhar ul Islam Zafar, Vice President of ICCI, urged major global powers to play a constructive role in finding a just solution to the Kashmir issue, emphasizing the importance of regional development and prosperity contingent upon its resolution.

Former ICCI President Zafar Bakhtawari praised Mushaal Hussein Mullick’s efforts for the Kashmir cause and expressed hope for Kashmir’s eventual freedom from Indian occupation.

The event also saw contributions from President Islamabad High Court Bar, Naveed Malik, Ajmal Baloch, Rana Muhammad Akram, Rana Saeed Doshi, Ms. Nasira Ali, and others, all advocating for the resolution of the Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
