KARACHI: In a bid to combat the critical issue of water scarcity in Sindh, Pakistan Rangers have launched a sustained operation against illegal water hydrants and water theft. This initiative goes beyond just dismantling existing structures and aims to prevent the problem at its root.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, a recent joint operation with the Karachi Water Board targeted unauthorized well-digging activities near the Lyari River and the Lyari Expressway Toll Plaza.  Rangers identified five locations where individuals were extracting water without proper permits or documentation.  These illegal wells not only deprive legitimate users of this vital resource but can also negatively impact the water table and surrounding environment.

This operation signifies the Rangers’ commitment to tackling water theft throughout Sindh. Their efforts will continue until they successfully eradicate the establishment of illegal hydrants and the theft of water.  By stopping the problem at its source, the Rangers aim to ensure a fairer distribution of water and alleviate the burden on legal water users in the region.
