Pakistan Says Taiwan Integral Part of China

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan affirmed on Saturday that Taiwan is an integral part of the People’s Republic of China.

In response to media inquiries regarding the elections in Taiwan, Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the One-China Policy.

Baloch emphasized that Pakistan advocates for non-interference in the domestic affairs of all countries, aligning with the principles and objectives outlined in the UN Charter.

She reaffirmed that Pakistan’s stance on Taiwan remains consistent, clear, and principled.

Taiwan voted in which ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Vice President William Lai Ching-te emerged victorious in the island’s presidential election, defeating competitors Hou Yu-ih of the Kuomintang (KMT) and Ko Wen-je of the Taiwan People’s Party. Lai’s running mate, Hsiao Bi-khim, a former representative to the United States, joined him in securing more than 5 million votes.
