Pakistan Still Need 188 to Win Australia Test

MELBOURNE, Australia: Pakistan still need 188 runs to win with seven wickets in hand at day four of the second Test match against Australia here Friday.

Babar Azam is playing on 35 accompanied by Saud Shakeel who is standing at 10.

Earlier, Pakistan were given a difficult target of 317 runs on the fourth day of the Test after Australia were bowled out for 262 before lunch.

Earlier, Mitchell Starc removed opener Abdullah Shafique cheaply as Pakistan stuttered in their chase of 317 to win the second Test.

At lunch on day four, Pakistan were 25-1 with the deficit down to 292, but Shafique was caught by Usman Khawaja in the slips for four, after a period of intense pressure.

The Pakistanis padded up after Australia were all out in their second innings for 262, after resuming on 187-6. Mir Hamza remained the best with 4-32, while Afridi took 4-76.

Pakistan are targeting a first Test win on Australian soil since 1995, but it seems not so easy.

The highest-ever successful run chase in the fourth innings of a Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground was 332-7 by England in 1928, with scores over 300 rare.
