Pakistan to Complete CPEC Projects on Priority Basis: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said on Tuesday that Pakistan will have to move ahead of China to complete the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

He chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the visit to China. Expressing his thoughts, the minister said that it would be the key agenda to ensure the development of CPEC phase II during his visit.

Stressing the need for having a “vision” to uplift the country, he said that Pakistan will have to come up with strong planning to pave the way for opportunities in the region.

ML-1 Project’s Importance for Pakistan

He highlighted the importance of the completion of the ML-1 project, stating that the ML-1 project will also be on the agenda during the visit to China. The country will have to suffer from more incidents if working on the ML-1 project is not started.

He added that the ML-1 project was quite important for empowering the communication and trade sectors.

The minister lavished his praise on China, saying that it is because of the clear vision and roadmap that China has progressed.
