ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is set to implement electronic gates (e-gates) at its major airports, including Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, Lahore’s Allama Iqbal Airport, and Islamabad International Airport, a local news channel reported.

The move aims to enhance the efficiency of the immigration process for travelers, providing a streamlined and automated experience.

According to the news channel, discussions are currently underway between Pakistani authorities and a relevant company for the installation of e-gates at the designated international airports.

Once implemented, the e-gates will offer passengers the convenience of utilizing automated self-service immigration, similar to systems in place at airports in various developing countries.

The introduction of e-gates is expected to significantly improve the overall travel experience by reducing the reliance on traditional queues and paperwork.

Passengers at Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad airports will benefit from a more efficient and time-saving immigration process. The move will allow for smoother passage through the designated e-gates.
