Pakistan Top Athletes to Participate in 8th Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship in Abu Dhabi

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Jiu-Jitsu Federation announced on Monday that top national athletes will represent Pakistan in the upcoming 8th Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship.

Scheduled to take place from May 3 to 8 at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City of Abu Dhabi, the championship will feature around 1,500 athletes from over 30 countries.

The Pakistani contingent includes senior team members Muhammad Ammar, Isra Waseem, and Kainat Arif, as well as junior members Muhammad Yousaf Ali, Umar Yasin (under 18), and Hamad Baloch (under 16 category), according to a statement by the federation.

In addition to the athletes, Dilawar Khan Sannan and Abu Huraira will participate in the Asian Referee Seminar and Examination. Tariq Ali, the General Secretary of the Pakistan Jiu-Jitsu Federation, will accompany the national team and represent Pakistan at the General Assembly of the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union.

The President of the Pakistan Jiu-Jitsu Federation expressed optimism that the national team would deliver outstanding performances in the championship, building on their success in the 2023 Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Thailand.

He also reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to providing ample opportunities to junior athletes and ensuring their best possible training with the support of the Pakistan Sports Board.
