Pakistani Chess Grandmaster to Participate in Chess Tournament in Dhaka

ISLAMABAD: The 1st Mian Sultan Khan Chess Tournament, jointly organized by the High Commission of Pakistan in Dhaka and the Bangladesh Chess Federation, is set to take place on February 24.

This event aims to honor the remarkable talent of Mian Sultan Khan, a revered figure in the chess world. “We are proud to host this tournament, which pays homage to the enduring legacy of Mian Sultan Khan,” stated the Pakistani High Commission. Mian Sultan Khan’s prowess in chess left an indelible mark, captivating the international chess community with his extraordinary abilities.

Notably, he clinched the British Championship thrice and consistently ranked among the world’s top ten players. In recognition of his exceptional skills, the International Chess Federation posthumously conferred upon him the prestigious title of Grandmaster on February 2, 2024.
