Pakistani Court handover Two Children to Polish Mothers

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has given custody of two children to Polish mothers, after their Pakistani father lost a legal battle.

IHC Chief Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the plea of two Polish women against their Pakistani husband seeking the extradition of the two children who were brought to Pakistan earlier.

During the hearing, Pakistani citizen Muhammad Saleem, the two Polish women and their children, the Additional Attorney General and the Polish diplomatic staff appeared in the court.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) told the court that the passports of the children and their father have been obtained.

The Polish women’s counsel told the court that the father brought the children to Pakistan for a few weeks but he did not send them back to Poland. He said that the children were Polish citizens and they had been with their mothers for the last seven years.

The lawyer of the two women said that family courts of Pakistan also handover young children to their mothers, requesting the court to issue orders for handing over the children to their mothers.

After arguments, the IHC ordered to take the children from the Pakistani husband and hand them over to their mothers.

The IHC also ordered the FIA to remove the children’s names from the Exit Control List and hand over the travel documents to their mothers.
