The emotional and sympathetic bond between the two nations, rooted in history and shared values, has roused Pakistanis from all walks of life, echoing the true sentiments expressed by the founding leader, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on November 8, 1945.
Quaid-i-Azam’s vision of proactive assistance to the Arabs in Palestine has resonated through generations, shaping Pakistan’s enduring commitment to the Palestinian cause. In 1945, Quaid-i-Azam had said, “The Muslims of India would not remain mere spectators. They would help the Arabs in Palestine by all possible means”. Since independence, the Pakistani nation has remained emotionally linked with the Palestinian nation and has been a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause.
Pakistani nation is in a state of extreme distress and infuriated over the recent genocide of innocent Palestinian brothers, sisters, and children by barbarous Israeli forces. Thousands of men, women, and children have taken to the streets across Pakistan, joining marches to express their solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Pakistan’s support for an independent Palestinian state and its advocacy for a two-state solution have remained unwavering. The nation firmly believes that such a resolution is pivotal to establishing enduring peace in the Middle East. Pakistan has consistently voiced concerns over the Israeli government’s systematic repression of Palestinians, acknowledging the reality of Israel’s abusive repression against the Palestinian people.
Pakistan’s Humanitarian Aid for the People of Palestine
Pakistan’s commitment to the Palestinian cause isn’t merely rhetorical; the country has taken a lead role in providing humanitarian aid to the Palestinians. Substantial aid shipments, mobilized promptly, have already reached Egypt for further passage to the victims of Israeli brutalities. This action underscores Pakistan’s dedication to easing the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, speaking on October 17, 2023, reaffirmed Pakistan’s staunch support for the Palestinian cause. He stated, “The Palestinian people have the unequivocal diplomatic, moral and political support of the Pakistani nation, and we will continue to support the principled stance of our brethren for enduring resolution of the Palestinian issue and end to the unlawful occupation of their territories and Muslims’ sacred places.”
The people of Pakistan are resolute in their support for the Palestinians’ right to self-determination. Moreover, Pakistan urges and expects the international community to intervene urgently, preventing further escalation and averting additional loss of lives.
