Pakistani Rupee Bounces Back, Gains Rs 2.18 Against US Dollar

ISLAMABAD: After a slight depreciation for three consecutive days, the Pakistani Rupee bounced back on Thursday while strengthening by Rs 2.18 against the greenback in the interbank trading as it closed at Rs 287.20 compared to Rs 289.38 last day.

However, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market were influenced downward to settle at Rs 290 and Rs 293 against the last-day rates of Rs 289 and Rs 292.

Pakistani Rupee Against Other Currencies

Like the greenback, the price of the Euro also went down with a devaluation of Rs 4.18 to close at Rs 313.53 against Rs 317.71 last day.

The Japanese Yen witnessed the same effect and went down by 03 paisa to close at Rs 2, whereas the British Pound recorded a decrease of Rs 5.53 to settle at Rs 364.53 against its last day’s closing of Rs 370.06.

The exchange rates of the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal went down by 59 and 57 paisa to close at Rs 78.19 and Rs 76.55, respectively.
