Pakistani Rupee Sheds 26 Paisas Against US Dollar

ISLAMABAD: After having a minimal appreciation during last week, the Pakistani rupee suffered depreciation at the start of the week and lost 26 paisas against the American Dollar in the interbank while closing at Rs 283.85 compared to Rs 283.59 the previous day.

As reported by the Forex Association of Pakistan, the buying and selling rates of the US Dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs 285 and Rs 288, respectively.

Other Currencies Against Pak Rupee

Like the American dollar, other major currencies also got strength against the local currency. The price of the Euro went up 94 paisas to close at Rs 313.65 compared to the last day’s closing of Rs 312.71, as per reports by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

However, the Japanese Yen got a slight depreciation of 01 paisa to close at Rs 2.10, whereas the British Pound witnessed an increase of Rs 1.40  in the exchange rate and was traded at Rs 358.80 as compared to its last day’s closing of Rs 357.40.

The exchange rate of the Saudi Riyal and Emirates Dirham went up by 07 paisas each to close at  Rs 75.68 and Rs 77.29, respectively.
