Pakistani Rupee Slightly Weakens Against US Dollar

ISLAMABAD: After witnessing a meager strength for two consecutive days Pakistani rupee recorded a slight decline of 44 paisas against the US Dollar in the interbank trading on Wednesday and closed at Rs 285.40 compared to Rs 284.96 on Tuesday.

As per reports by the Forex Association of Pakistan, the buying and selling rates of the Greenback in the open market were witnessed at Rs 292 and Rs 296, respectively.

Pakistani Rupee Against Other Currencies

Meanwhile, other international currencies witnessed a mixed response against the local currency as the price of the Euro went down by Rs 1.27 to close at Rs. 309.20 against Rs 310.47 the previous day, as per reports by the SBP.

The Japanese Yen had the same response and was decreased by 01 paisa while closing at Rs 2.08, and the British Pound went down by Rs. 2.12 in the exchange rate and entertained at Rs. 354.85 as compared to Rs 356.97 the other day.

However, the exchange rate of the Saudi Riyal and Emirates Dirham witnessed slight appreciation and increased by 12 paisas each to close at Rs. 76.10 and Rs. 77.72 respectively.
