Pakistani Visual Artist’s Exhibition in Brussels Showcases Urbanization

ISLAMABAD: Young Pakistani visual artist Mina Arham, whose work’s main focus is rapid urbanization worldwide and its deep impact on the transformation of the landscape of urban areas, has launched an exhibition in Brussels. Much of her work focuses on Lahore, the cultural capital of Pakistan.

The Solo Art exhibition is being held at Brussels Red Moon Art Incubator in collaboration with Pakistan’s Embassy in Brussels, according to a statement here Saturday.

The incubator provides a forum for young female artists by giving them residency and a mechanism to display their works. The not-for-profit organization targets under-representative countries.

Pakistan embassy in Belgium promotes artists’ works

Ambassador of Pakistan to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union, Dr. Asad Majeed Khan inaugurated the exhibition and appreciated Mina Arham’s work, and stated that the creative talents of Pakistani are promoted by the embassy. By such promotion, the works are showcased to the Belgian public.

Ambassador Khan stressed that more such events are on the cards which would be arranged as an exhibition series entitled “Pakistan Panorama” for which upcoming artists from Pakistan’s art circles would be selected.

At the event, Mina Arham elaborated on her artworks to the audience and highlighted on what inspired her.
