Pakistan’s Ambassador Seeks Defense Cooperation with China

BEIJING: Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, visited to the headquarters of CATIC where he met with Chairman Liu Yu on Tuesday.

During the visit, the ambassador received a comprehensive briefing on the company’s top-notch equipment and products. Emphasizing the enduring partnership between Pakistan and China, discussions ensued on enhancing defense cooperation between the two nations. Accompanying the ambassador were senior officials from the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing.

“Pleased to have visited the CATIC headquarters and met with Chairman Liu Yu. Appreciated the detailed briefing on their high-quality equipment and products. In our longstanding partnership, we explored avenues to further bolster our defense cooperation,” said the ambassador on his social media account X following the visit.

The defense realm stands as a significant pillar in the Pakistan-China relationship, highlighted by recent collaborative efforts such as the launch of the first Hangor-class submarine in Wuhan.
