Pakistan’s Army Chief Stresses Unity for National Development

RAWALPINDI: The Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI) Conference was held on Friday which was attended by the Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir and federal ministers, a statement from the ISPR said.

According to the ISPR, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, Civil and military officials engaged in the national endeavor attended the conference.

The forum received comprehensive briefings on the multifaceted initiatives undertaken as part of the GPI, highlighting significant milestones achieved within a short timeframe. These initiatives encompassed the establishment of model farms, water management schemes, technological innovations, and investment partnerships aimed at bolstering food security and augmenting agricultural productivity in Pakistan.

The Federal Ministers commended the transformative impact of the GPI and emphasized the pivotal role of agriculture as the backbone of Pakistan’s economy. They expressed optimism that the initiative would usher in modern best practices to revolutionize the agriculture sector in Pakistan.

Addressing the conference, COAS said that “Pakistan is a blessed land with an industrious and resilient nation which needs to come together for national development”.

He reiterated the Pakistan Army’s unwavering commitment to supporting the country’s economic development endeavors, emphasizing the role of these efforts in bolstering comprehensive national security and advancing the collective welfare of the nation.
