ISLAMABAD: Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC), Mian Kashif Ashfaq Friday eloquently praised the meritorious services rendered by the outgoing Chinese envoy to Pakistan Nong Rong in further cementing bilateral ties between the two countries besides promoting trade.
Talking to the ambassador virtually through Zoom, Mian Kashif said that it was the time-tested ground reality that the iron-clad friendship between the two countries is higher than the mountains, sweeter than honey, and deeper than the sea.
He further said his remarkable tenure, the two sides reiterated to promote practical cooperation in major areas and expedite the boosting of China-Pakistan relations. With the strong supervision of the leaders, both countries are making great strides towards building a closer and stronger China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era, he added.
Role of Chinese envoy in CPEC
He said during the tenure of Nong Rong, the CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) project has achieved many fruitful results and mutual trade witnessed a good momentum of development as the second phase of the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement has started to show its effectiveness.
He further said that China has become Pakistan’s largest trading partner for eight continuous years. And Pakistan’s agricultural exports to China in particular are rapidly growing adding that China is the third largest export destination of Pakistan.
