Pakistan’s Export of Sports Products to China Increase: Report

BEIJING: Pakistan’s exports of sports products such as basketball, football, and volleyball to China registered around 31 percent increase in 2023 due to increasing demand, Ghulam Qadir, Commercial Counsellor at Pakistani Embassy in Beijing said in a statement.
This increase trend shows the quality and competitiveness of Pakistan’s sports items in the global market, especially in the realm of sport equipment, Ghulam Qadir said in an interview. He added that the increase in sports items also shows potential opportunities for further increase and collaboration between China and Pakistan in this field.
He said that the city of Sialkot having a storied history as a main hub for sports manufacturing, is recognized for supplying balls for prestigious international soccer tournaments.
Pakistani’s football, basketball, and volleyball export to China in 2023 has crossed $ 11.93 million whereas last year in the same period it was only 9.13 million dollars.
On the other hand, the exports of the equipment for gymnastics and general physical exercise sports crossed $ 0.83 million. The overall sports related items export to China from Pakistan crossed $14.33 million in last year, he maintained.
