Pakistan’s FM, Gambia’s President Agree to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

BANJUL: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday met the President of Gambia Adama Barrow on the sidelines of the 15th OIC Islamic Summit Conference in Banjul, The Gambia.

Ishaq Dar congratulated the Gambian President on the successful holding of the summit and said that Gambia has highlighted the critical issue of Islamophobia through the platform of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation moot.

President Barrow expressed his deep appreciation for the high-level participation by Pakistan at the event.

Gambia Hopes to Engage Ummah on Different Issues

He said as Chair of the Summit, Gambia hoped to engage with the Muslim Ummah on different issues.

The two leaders highlighted the importance of reinvigorating the bilateral ties and enhanced cooperation in diverse areas like trade, education, agriculture, and tourism.

Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan will offer training programmes for diplomats and military personnel from Gambia.
