Pakistan’s Moon Sighting Committee Meeting Convened on April 9

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Pakistan’s central moon sighting committee, has been convened for the Eid-ul-Fitr moon sighting on April 9 in Islamabad.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, will preside over the meeting.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad has vowed to hold Eid-ul-Fitr on the same day across the country.

He said that the committee will announce the date of Eid-ul-Fitr based on testimonies of the moon sighting.

Moon Sighting on 29th Ramadan

Previously, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, also hinted at the possibility of the moon sighting on the 29th of Ramadan, based on scientific calculations.

He suggested that Eidul Fitr could potentially be celebrated in the country on Wednesday, April 10.

Moreover, the Meteorological Department in Karachi has also issued a forecast regarding the sighting of the Shawwal moon, indicating that there are chances of its sighting on April 9.
