Pakistan’s Planning Minister Stresses Digital Transformation

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal said that the digital revolution currently underway in the international arena will completely revolutionize the world in the next ten years.

He mentioned that intelligent automation systems have eased everyday processes in all public sector organizations across the developed world. Therefore, there is a pressing need for the Pakistan government to prioritize automating its processes.

The minister made these remarks during a certificate distribution ceremony organized for officials from various ministries who completed the IPAS training program to digitize PSDP portfolios of their respective departments.

The ‘Intelligent Project Automation System’ (IPAS) was launched in October 2019 as a joint effort of the Pakistan Information Technology Board and the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives.

Qaiser Zahir Shah, Project Director of iPAS, briefed the minister about the important features of the initiative. It brings together different systems to make project work smoother and achieve increased management efficiency.
