LAHORE: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar on Monday said that Baloch militant outfits are receiving funding from the Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) to carry out terrorist activities in Pakistan.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the premier addressed those who had called for presenting militants in courts, pointing out that despite nearly 90,000 deaths in terror incidents in the country, not even nine people have been convicted by courts. The prime minister criticized the criminal justice system.

He claimed that people funded by RAW commit murders in Pakistan. He explicitly stated that these activities are funded by the Indian agency and challenged anyone to deny it.

Commenting on the recent police action against Baloch protesters in Islamabad, Kakar admitted that it should not have happened but justified it by citing the pelting of stones at officials. He strongly criticized those comparing the use of water cannons in Islamabad to the situation in Gaza, emphasizing that such comparisons were unfair.

Pakistan’s PM Defends Actions Against Baloch Protesters

The prime minister acknowledged the right of Baloch families to protest and speak out, even if they believe their relatives were involved in terrorism. He condemned the militant organizations, such as the Baloch Liberation Army, the Baloch Liberation Front, and the Baloch Republican Army, accusing them of carrying out acts of terrorism against the state.

Kakar stated that the government is open to dialogue with Baloch protesters but criticized their demands, describing them as painful to repeat. He defended the use of water cannons and said that it is a standard practice. Kakar reiterated that his fight is against militant organizations and not against Baloch families.

He concluded by stating that a significant majority of the Baloch community stands with the country, expressing no quarrel with Baloch families but with what he referred to as “fake and lying sympathizers.
