Pakistan’s PM Invites Japanese Companies to Invest in Automobile Sector

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday invited Japanese companies to invest in Pakistan’s automobile sector.
A high-level Japanese business delegation headed by Japanese Ambassador Wada Mitsuhiro called on Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House where he emphasized the importance of bolstering Pakistan-Japan trade and investment cooperation.
He pledged swift resolution of issues faced by Japanese businessmen through collaborative efforts, with a dedicated committee in place to address their concerns within a week.

Highlighting Pakistan’s significant potential for investment in electric vehicles, the Prime Minister urged Japanese companies to explore opportunities in this sector. He underscored the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Japan and called for intensified trade and investment ties across various sectors.

The Japanese delegation expressed confidence in Pakistan’s pro-business policies, anticipating a fruitful outcome from the upcoming visit of a prominent 20-member Japanese delegation.

They lauded the government’s focus on investment and business-friendly initiatives, expecting these measures to boost foreign investor confidence and increase exports.

Praising the initiative by Japanese firms to prepare for hybrid vehicle manufacturing in Pakistan, the Prime Minister commended their efforts. Representatives from various Japanese companies shared insights on their business operations in Pakistan, including value-added exports.

The meeting was attended by federal ministers Jam Kamal Khan, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Rana Tanveer Hussain, and Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister of State Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and senior officials from relevant government departments, including the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue.
