Pakistan’s PM, Turkish President Discuss Bilateral, International Issues

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, on Wednesday held a telephonic conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and exchanged views on various bilateral and international issues. The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact to enhance bilateral cooperation.

The Prime Minister invited President Erdogan to the International Conference being co-hosted by Pakistan with the United Nations (UN) in Geneva on January 9, next year, in the wake of the July devastating flash floods in Pakistan.

PM appreciates Turkish govt’s support

PM Shehbaz expressed gratitude on behalf of the people and the government of Pakistan to the brotherly government of Turkey for providing prompt humanitarian assistance in the wake of the unprecedented climate-induced catastrophic floods.

Highlighting the challenge faced by Pakistan in terms of reconstruction and rehabilitation of the affected areas in a climate-resilient manner, PM Shehbaz underscored the significance of continued international support and solidarity for Pakistan’s plans to rebuild better.
