Pakistan’s President Discuss Balochistan’s Situation with CM, Governor in Quetta

QUETTA: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday arrived in Quetta on a 3-day visit to Balochistan. Balochistan Governor Shaikh Jaffer Mandokhail, Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, provincial ministers and parliamentarians welcomed the president at the airport.

It is the first visit of President Zardari to Balochistan after taking over his office.

He will be given briefings about the law and order as well as the development projects in the province, according to a President House statement.

CM Balochistan Meets President

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and provincial ministers called on President Asif Ali Zardari at the CM House.

The provincial ministers included Mir Sadiq Umrani, Sardar Abdur Rehman Kethran, Mir Saleem Khosa, Ali Madad Jattak, Mir Zahoor Buledi, Faisal Jamali, Gazal Gola and Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, member of the provincial assembly and senior PPP leader.

President Zardari is also scheduled to interact with the newly elected members of the Balochistan Assembly.

Earlier, in a major development, President Asif Ali Zardari accorded his approval to the appointment of Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail as Governor of Balochistan.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PML-N) Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail was sworn in as Governor of Balochistan on Monday.

Chief Justice Balochistan High Court Hashim Khan Kakar administered the oath to Mandokhail as the 24th governor of Balochistan in a ceremony organized at the Governor House.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfaraz Bhugti, members, cabinet ministers and members of the provincial assembly.
