PCB Ready to Share Sports Expertise with Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: With cricket gaining popularity across the Kingdom, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has offered to share sports expertise with Saudi Arabia.

While speaking with Arab News, PCB Chairman Najam Sethi said that if asked the board would be willing to go and help Saudi to establish a cricketing structure there.

Citing successful efforts with other countries, notably with neighboring Afghanistan, Sethi said that PCB sports persons have the talent and knowledge so if the Saudis want our help, then we will certainly help them out.

In 2003, Saudi Arabia gained the International Cricket Council’s affiliate membership and was promoted to associate member in 2016.

With the setting up of the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation in 2020, the Kingdom saw a boom in the game of cricket.

The game’s real boom began after the establishment of the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation in 2020, after which a series of programs were launched to promote the sport within the Kingdom. Apart from this, category-based national teams were prepared in order to compete with the world’s top sides in the future.
