LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Borad (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced on Sunday that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) restored Haris Rauf’s central contract following his appeal in a letter. This decision comes a month after the PCB withdrew Rauf’s contract due to his refusal to join the test squad.

Rauf, aged 30, opted out of Pakistan’s three-match test tour of Australia, opting instead to participate in Australia’s Big Bash League. Pakistan endured a 3-0 series loss against the hosts during this period.

Naqvi told the reporters that he had received a cordial letter from Haris Rauf, expressing regret over a misunderstanding and an erroneous decision that led to the suspension of his contract.

Currently, sidelined with a dislocated shoulder sustained during a Pakistan Super League match, Rauf’s injury has prompted concern from Naqvi, who emphasized the ongoing efforts to address it. Describing Rauf as a pivotal player, Naqvi stressed the importance of ensuring his well-being.
