Pervez Elahi Asks Governor Punjab to Dissolve Punjab Assembly

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Ch. Parvez Elahi has sent a summary to Governor Punjab Balig ur Rehman for the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) media wing issued a shot of the advice sent to Governor Punjab late in Thursday evening, saying he should dissolve the assembly.

Pervez Elahi Chief Minister Punjab, hereby advise you to dissolve the provincial assembly of Punjab”, read the letter addressed by the chief minister to ‘Dear’ Governor Punjab.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry also said that Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi signed the summary for dissolving the Punjab assembly.

Speaking to the media in Lahore, he said that the advice had been forwarded to the Punjab Governor. “If Governor does not accept the advice then, the assembly is automatically dissolved after 48 hours,” he asdded.

He made the remarks after a meeting between PTI Chairman Imran and CM Punjab Pervez Elahi at the former’s Zaman Park residence. Elahi had managed to secure the confidence of 186 lawmakers in a session that began on Wednesday and ended in the early hours of Thursday.
The PTI leader also said that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa assembly would also be dissolved “day after tomorrow”.
