LAHORE: Former Chief Minister of Punjab and President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chaudhry Parvez Elahi approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday against his detention orders under 3MPO.
According to Elahi’s attorney, Amir Saeed Rawn, who submitted the plea, Parvez Elahi is being unfairly targeted as part of political vengeance.
The petitioner argued that his client has repeatedly demonstrated his innocence by pointing out that bail has been granted to Elahi in all of his prior cases. It added that the court has also granted Elahi protective bail in a different terrorism-related matter.
The petitioner had hoped that by accepting this application, the Lahore High Court would revoke the detention orders against Parvez Elahi.
