RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former defence minister Pervez Khattak on Saturday warned the federal government to announce early elections in the country; otherwise, the country will lead to political revolution.
While addressing the participants of the PTI rally in Rawalpindi, Pervez Khattak said that PTI has only one demand that is early general elections in the country.
Pervez Khattak said that the incumbent government fears elections as they fear defeat if an early election is called in the country. He maintained that the Pakistani nation would bring Imran Khan into power despite the government’s efforts to minus him from Pakistan’s politics.
The PTI leader asked the government to announce early elections as elections are the only way to save the country.
While commenting on Arshad Sharif’s murder and custodial torture of senator Azam Swati, Pervez Khattak said that what the government did with Arshad Sharif and Azam Swati was never witnessed during the Marshal Law regime in the country.
“Enough is enough; give the nation a chance to select their leader and save the country,” Khattak said.
Pervez Khattak said they are peaceful citizens and are gathered to register a peaceful protest.
