Peshawar High Court Suspends ECP’s Summon Notice Issued to Gandapur in Assets’ Case

PESHAWAR: A two-member bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprising Justice Shakeel Ahmed and Justice SM Attiq Shah has suspended the suo moto notice of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) related to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur’s assets case, local media reported on Tuesday.

The court has also issued a notice to the  Election Commission of Pakistan seeking a response for issuing a summon notice to the Chief Minister KP for an explanation of his last years’ statements related to assets.

The petitioner’s lawyer contended that it was no longer the authority of the Election Commission of Pakistan to ask for the last year’s assets’ details, saying that all the details were available on the website of the ECP.

Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan had issued a notice to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister to appear before the commission on April 30 and also submit details of his last year’s assets.
