ISLAMABAD: Under the Green Pakistan Initiative, spearheaded by the Special Investment Facilitation Council, the Plant 4 Pakistan Campaign has been launched here on Monday.

This initiative aims to promote afforestation, combat pollution, and prevent encroachment in various districts across the country. The campaign is being implemented in Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Hazara, and Malakand Divisions, as well as district Poonch and Muzaffarabad in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The Plant 4 Pakistan drive seeks to reclaim designated land for forestation and encourage plantation efforts. Provincial governments will take the lead, with support from the corporate sector, youth, general public, and Pakistan Army.

Scheduled to run until 2026, the campaign will expand to other districts. Apart from reducing pollution, the project aims to bolster the timber industry and benefit landowners in agriculture.
