PM Kakar Emphasizes Timely Urea Supply for Rabi Crop

ISLAMABAD: A review meeting chaired by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar emphasized the importance of ensuring timely and uninterrupted urea supply to farmers for the upcoming Rabi crop.

The meeting discussed various aspects of the fertilizer supply chain and made significant directives to enhance its efficiency.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Kakar stressed the need for adequate arrangements of fertilizer buffer stock to meet the demands of the Rabi crop. He further urged district administrations to monitor fertilizer prices closely, ensuring that they remain affordable for farmers.

The participants were briefed on recent fertilizer production figures and expected demand in the country. The meeting also touched upon the decisions of the Economic Coordination Committee aimed at sustaining uninterrupted fertilizer supply.

Prime Minister Kakar directed the relevant ministries to create a comprehensive action plan that ensures the continuous supply of fertilizer for the Rabi crop. Detailed discussions on raw material prices for fertilizer production, the current fertilizer price, gas supply to fertilizer factories, and demand took place during the meeting.

The review meeting saw the participation of caretaker federal ministers Gohar Ejaz, Kausar Abdullah Malik, Muhammad Ali, and Adviser to the Prime Minister Ahad Khan Cheema, along with senior officials.

As Pakistan prepares for the Rabi crop season, these deliberations highlight the caretaker government’s commitment to supporting the agriculture sector by ensuring a reliable supply of essential fertilizers. Farmers across the country will benefit from these efforts as they work to enhance agricultural productivity.
