PM Shehbaz Sharif Announces Ramadan Relief Package

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday announced Ramadan Relief Package for millions of Pakistanis living below poverty line.

There has been a considerable increase in and the package that was initially planned at seven billion rupee is now extended to rupees 17 billion to cater maximum of people in the holy month of Ramadan.

Utility Stores Cooperation , Benazir Income Support Programme and Mobile Units all have been taken on board to give relief to the masses besides providing them the assistance at their doorstep.

The government has established 1200 mobile and 300 permanent centers for the distribution of the packages for the public and efforts are made to provide commodities at a lower price at these points. This relief work will continue till the end of the holy month.

In spite of fixed points, trucks will have commodities presented to the people. Supply points will be decided with the help of  GPS. Special video will be released to help in use of Mobile APP. Dashboard is being establish with the help digital technology for the surveillance of flour distribution by mobile units.

During the shifting of mobile unit from one place to other place distribution of flour will stay uninterrupted.

Flour Distribution will be continuously under surveillance by mobile and live footage.

The subsidized rations will be provided to 36.9 million families during Ramadan.  The Ramadan package include flour, rice, sugar, ghee, pulses, fruit drinks and they will be made available to the people on reduced market prices.

The commodities will be provided at 30 per cent less than that of the market price to the deserving people. The subsidy on flour and ghee will be given on every kilogram purchased amounting up to Rs 77 and Rs 70 respectively.
