PM Shehbaz to Visit Rain-hit Areas of Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s newly-elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit the rain-hit areas of Gwadar today. According to a statement issued by PM’s media office, Shehbaz Sharif will review relief activities in the rain-hit areas. The newly elected Prime Minister will also announce a package for the victims.

Heavy rains last week brought destruction to the coastal city whose streets and roads were flooded and thousands of people became homeless. Several fishermen’s boats were washed away due to high tide.

Earlier, newly elected Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti has also constituted a committee to assess the damage caused by recent heavy rains and floods in Gwadar, Balochistan. As per media reports, the committee will submit its initial reports to the Chief Minister of the province in 20 days.

Bugti also visited Gwadar on Sunday directed the local official to complete the dewatering process in 24 hours and provide maximum relief to the rain-hit people in the area.
