Police Crackdown: Two Illegal Networks Dismantled

PESHAWAR: The district police successfully dismantled two inter-provincial gangs involved in the illegal trade of weapons and liquor. Six individuals have been apprehended in connection with these illicit activities.

The Pashtakhara police intercepted a major arms smuggling attempt, thwarting the efforts of an inter-provincial gang engaged in supplying illegal weapons and ammunition. Four members of this criminal network were arrested, and an alarming cache of weaponry was confiscated, including 59 rifles, 20 pistols, 9,000 cartridges of various calibers, and 145 magazines. The perpetrators were transporting these weapons in a Suzuki vehicle, intending to distribute them to other parts of the country. A comprehensive investigation is underway, with charges filed against the accused.

Simultaneously, the Faqeerabad Division police station in Paharipura successfully targeted a well-organized duo involved in the illicit liquor trade. Ali Akbar and Ismail, hailing from district Kurram and Haji Camp area, respectively, were apprehended at a warehouse in Haji Camp. The accused were allegedly responsible for the widespread distribution of liquor to various cities across the country. The police seized 300 liters of illicit liquor along with other related items from the warehouse.

In a separate operation, Agha Mir Jani police apprehended three street criminals operating in Bari Bagh and Rehman Baba Graveyard areas. The arrests yielded the recovery of one Kalashnikov, two bottles of liquor, and two pistols. The individuals, identified as Sulaiman, Qasim, and Sah Jahan, were actively engaged in criminal activities.

These law enforcement interventions underscore the commitment to ensuring public safety, disrupting criminal networks, and addressing the challenges posed by the illicit trade of weapons and liquor in the region.
