KARACHI: District City Police successfully apprehended an individual and seized a consignment of smuggled imported shoes from the Kharadar area.
Acting on actionable intelligence, officers from the Kharadar police station conducted a targeted raid, resulting in the confiscation of 12 cartons containing 144 boxes of high-end sports joggers. Additionally, a vehicle suspected to be involved in the illicit trade was intercepted during the operation.
The detained individual, identified as Ehsanullah, is alleged to have connections to the smuggling operation and was taken into custody for further investigation.
The seized footwear, with an estimated value of approximately Rs. 3 million, represents a significant blow to the illegal trade network operating in the area.
Subsequently, both the apprehended individual and the confiscated goods, along with the vehicle, were handed over to Customs authorities to initiate further legal proceedings.
