ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Portugal Manual Frederico Pinheiro da Silva called on Pakistan’s Caretaker Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Jamal Shah here on Tuesday, where both the dignitaries discussed mutual interest issues, particularly cultural ties of Pakistan and Portugal.
Both sides also agreed to focus on strengthening bilateral relations and connecting mutual cultural bonds. They also highlighted in detail the cooperation between the two sides in cultural sphere organizations fully supported by cultural events and the promotion of the cultural heritage of Pakistan and Portugal.
Jamal Shah on Ties with Portugal
Meanwhile, federal minister Jamal Shah apprised the envoy about the cultural richness of the sub-continent, particularly Pakistan, adding that Pakistan and Portugal both have a lot of cultural potential and diversity, and people on both sides could benefit from it.
The ambassador of Portugal, Manual Frederico Pinheiro da Silva, acknowledged the potential for cooperation in the field of culture and sports between the two countries.
He also proposed to establish a Portugal book corner at the National Library of Pakistan (NLP).
