ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Saturday said that the recently held General Elections in the country had been a significant step in advancing democracy in the country.

In a statement issued from the Prime Minister House, PM Kakar said that the substantial turnout from diverse segments of society, including both genders, has garnered international recognition. However, in the aftermath of the elections, it is crucial for all stakeholders to acknowledge that victory and defeat are inherent aspects of democratic processes.

The premier said that parties and people with concerns regarding electoral irregularities are encouraged to seek legal redress through available channels. Pakistan’s legislative, judicial, and executive branches remain resilient and committed to delivering impartial justice to all.

While peaceful protest and assembly are fundamental rights, any form of agitation, violence, or incitement to vigilantism will not be tolerated. The law will be enforced swiftly and without hesitation.

PM Kakar said that at this critical juncture, any form of anarchy or disorder is unacceptable. Such actions only serve to further the agenda of hostile forces, both domestic and foreign, and pose serious law and order challenges.

The caretaker government appeals for patience as political parties engage in consultations to form governments at both the federal and provincial levels, adhering to democratic traditions and norms. It is hoped that this process concludes promptly with mutual understanding and respect.
