ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) has partnered with the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) to implement the Ba-Ikhtiar Project (Digital Hub and Women Strivers). This initiative aims to provide vocational training to women entrepreneurs in the Haripur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, focusing on enhancing their digital literacy.

Under the project, PPAF plans to train 100 ambitious female entrepreneurs in the next year, empowering them to enhance their marketing skills using digital platforms. Ufone 4G will contribute to the initiative by providing smartphones, mobile SIM cards, and internet connectivity to facilitate the digital literacy training process.

PPAF Project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advances Women’s Skills

The National Rural Support Programme (NRSP), PPAF’s on-ground project implementing partner, will handle the skills and vocational training of women entrepreneurs through the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In addition to digital literacy, the project includes life skills and financial literacy training, covering essential topics such as mobile wallets, bank accounts, and opportunities in micro-finance services. These efforts aim to boost the businesses of talented entrepreneurs and increase their income generation.

PPAF, with a presence in 147 districts across the country through partnerships with 130 organizations, has been strategically working to support communities at grassroots levels. The institution’s approach focuses on building and supporting value-based institutions that give a voice to and empower the people, contributing to the overall development of society.
