PPP Announces Nominee for CM Sindh, Speaker, Deputy Speaker

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday nominated Syed Murad Ali Shah again for the slot of the chief minister ship of Sindh, alongside Syed Awais Shah as the Speaker and Naveed Anthony as the Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly.

Speaking at the PPP Sindh’s Parliamentary party meeting held at Bilawal House, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the provincial government will have to show improved performance, particularly in rehabilitating educational institutions damaged during the 2022 floods.

Asserting the need for Sindh’s government to match the performance of federal and other provincial counterparts, Bilawal underscored the importance of nurturing young leadership within the provincial legislature.

Regarding the upcoming oath-taking ceremony of Sindh Assembly members scheduled for the following day, Bilawal announced the commencement of the process to form the newly elected government.

He urged CM nominee Murad Ali Shah to surpass the achievements of the previous tenure and to take decisive actions against corruption. Bilawal emphasized that Sindh’s government should aim to compete not only with the federal government but also with other provincial administrations.

Highlighting the pressing issue of water scarcity, Bilawal urged Murad Ali Shah to engage with the federal government and the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) for prompt resolution.

Furthermore, Bilawal emphasized the importance of addressing legitimate concerns raised by the opposition, both within and outside the Assembly.

Expressing his congratulations to all successful MPAs, Bilawal commended their efforts during the election campaigns.

Among the attendees at the parliamentary party meeting were newly elected PPP members of the Sindh Assembly, including former CM Murad Ali Shah, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Faryal Talpur, and others.
