ISLAMABAD: Senior PPP leader and former Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly, Shehla Raza, noted on Tuesday that all political parties should shift their focus to economic issues instead of engaging in internal politics as the 2024 elections approach.

She asserted that her party was prepared to play on any pitch. In an interview with a private news channel, Shehla highlighted that the PPP is the only political party in the country reaching out to all provinces during its election campaign. She emphasized that the PPP’s influence would extend to all provinces, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.

She expressed optimism about the upcoming general elections, stating that they would hopefully be free, fair, and transparent due to the effective functioning of a powerful Election Commission in the country. She confidently predicted that her party would secure a significant victory in the upcoming elections.

The former Deputy Speaker further praised Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, stating that through his hard work and competence, he has won the nation’s hearts and gained acknowledgment from leaders in the international community for his leadership capabilities.

She underscored the PPP’s commitment to serving society’s poor and oppressed segments, emphasizing that the PPP government has consistently worked in its best interests.

In response to a query, she emphasized that the PPP is not just a political party but a movement inspired by its founding chairman, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and chairperson, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. —APP
