PRCS Ambulance Centre Attacked by Israeli Troops: Arab Media

GAZA: Palestinian Red Crescent Society has said that its ambulance centre has been attacked by Israeli forces in Jabalia, Arab media reported on Thursday. In a statement, the group said its crews and paramedics have been apprehended and taken to an unknown location following Israeli forces attacked its ambulance centre in Jabalia.

In a statement via social media, it said that women and children are still stranded inside the centre in Jabalia. PRCS added that they called on the world to pressure the occupation forces for the immediate release of their teams and to provide protection and security for them. It maintained that the group also demanded the safety of women and children and ensure their safe evacuation as they (women and children) remain trapped inside the centre.

Earlier, in a statement the group said it had lost contact with its ambulance centre following internet and telecommunications were cut off. Israeli army has been repeatedly accused of targeting health and media workers in the Gaza strip.

Israel’s bombardment and ground attack has killed more than 20,000 people, mostly children and women, according to Gaza’s government. As per media reports 8,000 children and 6,200 women have been killed by Israeli brutal attacks on Gaza since October 7.

Meanwhile, a report released Thursday by the United Nations finds that over half a million people in are “starving” in Gaza because of not enough food stuff entering the Strip since the outbreak of war around 10 weeks ago.

World Food Program chief economist Arif Husain said that it is a situation where everyone in the Gaza Strip is hungry.  Arif Husain warned that if the war between Hamas and Israel continues at the same levels and food deliveries are not restored that the people in the Gaza Strip could face “a complete starvation within the next few months.
