President Japarov Felicitates on Bishkek City Day

BISHKEK:  Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov has congratulated the residents and guests on the Bishkek City Day on April 29, local media reported on Monday.  In his address, Japarov has reminded that over 20% of the population of Kyrgyzstan lives in the capital city, highlighting that Bishkek is a symbol of unity and freedom of the entire nation.

The President stated that archaeological research at the spot of the ruins of the city of Jul, dating back to the V-VI centuries AD, would start in the current year.  He termed the capital as an economic, transport, scientific, and cultural center of the country.

Concluding his remarks, he expressed hope for joint efforts to turn Bishkek into ‘a cozy, sunny city that every visitor admires’ and asked to respect the city.
