President Zardari Emphasizes Strengthening Pakistan-Bahrain Relations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari expressed the nation’s strong regard for its fraternal ties with Bahrain during a meeting with Bahrain’s National Guard Commander, General Sheikh Mohammad bin Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa.

President Zardari underscored the importance of translating these relations into a mutually beneficial economic partnership, emphasizing shared religion, culture, and history as the foundation of their bond.

The meeting, held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, highlighted the need for further strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest. President Zardari expressed confidence in Pakistan’s potential for prosperity, affirming his commitment to bolstering the country’s growth.

General Sheikh Mohammad bin Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa extended congratulations to President Zardari on his re-election and expressed optimism for Pakistan’s future progress under his leadership. Acknowledging the robust defence cooperation between the two nations, he thanked Pakistan’s Armed Forces for their support and reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering backing for Pakistan.

During the interaction, General Sheikh Mohammad bin Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa extended a cordial invitation to President Zardari to visit Bahrain, further fostering diplomatic ties between the two nations.

President Zardari reciprocated the goodwill gestures, expressing gratitude for the visit and felicitations from Bahrain’s National Guard Commander.
