President Zardari, Iranian President Exchange Eid Greetings

KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari and the President of Iran, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi on Thursday held a telephonic conversation and exchanged Eid-ul-Fitar greetings.

According to a statement issued by the Presidency, during the conversation, President Asif Ali Zardari conveyed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the Iranian leadership and the bereaved families who lost their dear ones in the Israeli attack on the Iranian diplomatic mission in Damascus.

The President voiced his concern over the humanitarian crisis and the genocide being committed by the Israeli forces and stressed for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

President Asif Ali Zardari told the Iranian President that Pakistan would continue to work with Tehran in all areas of mutual interest to further enhance bilateral cooperation.

He underscored the need to enhance the exchange of information to overcome the security challenges being faced by the two nations.

He also invited the Iranian President to visit Pakistan.

The President also wished the Iranian President and his family continued health, well-being, and happiness.
