Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Commends IMF’s Support for Pakistan’s Economic Stability

RIYADH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has lauded the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for releasing the last financial tranche to Pakistan, expressing satisfaction over the significant step towards economic stability.

In a statement issued today, Prime Minister Sharif underscored the importance of the installment, valued at $1.1 billion, in bolstering Pakistan’s economic resilience.

He emphasized that the IMF agreement played a pivotal role in preventing Pakistan from defaulting during his tenure in the previous government, spanning sixteen months.

Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the necessity of making tough decisions to ensure Pakistan’s economic security, noting that these measures are now yielding positive outcomes in the form of economic stability.

Furthermore, he reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing the economy and fostering development across the country.

In a clear stance against excessive borrowing, Prime Minister Sharif stated that true success lies in clearing loans rather than acquiring them. He emphasized the importance of prudent financial management to achieve this goal.
