PARIS: Kylian Mbappe, the Paris St Germain forward, took full responsibility for their 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, resulting in their exit from the Champions League semi-finals with a 2-0 aggregate loss.

Despite PSG’s dominant possession and numerous shots, Mbappe, who is rumored to depart for Real Madrid in the summer, lamented his missed opportunities during the crucial second leg at the Parc des Princes. “I endeavored to contribute as much as possible, but ultimately fell short,” he admitted. Recognizing his role as the team’s primary goal-scorer, Mbappe acknowledged, “When things go well, the spotlight is on me, and when they don’t, I must bear the burden. Tonight, the onus was on me to find the net.”

Despite the disappointment, Mbappe emphasized the need to learn and evolve, expressing confidence in PSG’s future prospects. While their Champions League journey ended prematurely, PSG remains focused on their upcoming French Cup final against Olympique Lyonnais on May 25, as they aim to add another trophy to their collection.
